CULTURE BUILDS A CITY 2.0

Our plans, goals, activities

We would like to support the cultural life of the city of Miskolc. We want to give an opinion on the cultural strategy, and to make proposals for it. We also want to facilitate dialogue between the city’s cultural and artistic institutions. A goal is to help artists create the conditions for creative work. We seek collaboration with creative communities and NGOs. Funding for our activities will be provided by the Founder, and we would like to create it through tenders and with the involvement of patrons and supporters.

INTRODUCTION

WHO ARE WE?

The General Assembly of the City of Miskolc established the Public Foundation for the Culture of the City of Miskolc with the aim of contributing to the cultural life of the city. The Public Foundation was re-established in November 2020. We are constantly shaping the framework of our operation and looking for opportunities.

We are not a decision-making body, it is not in our hands to make significant decisions about cultural life. At the same time, we are confident that we can make our voices heard, representing a large part of the artistic and cultural sphere.

The members of the Board of Trustees do not receive any remuneration or other benefits. We do our work as volunteers in our free time.

1. STRATEGY

We would like to make suggestions for developing a cultural strategy. We comment on completed concepts. We expect our views to be heard and considered when making important decisions that affect the culture of the city.

2. APPLICATIONS

We monitor the calls for proposals and try to win the funds available from the Public Foundations. In addition to the annual support of the founder, we also seek patrons from the business sector. With the money raised, we want to support the cultural life of the city, and the local artists and groups. To this end, we plan to announce tenders ourselves.

3. SOCIALIZATION

We want to be a kind of communication bridge between the city’s cultural leadership and the population. To this end, we ask for the opinion of the people of Miskolc about our city and its culture on our public channels. We also want to assist in the cooperation between the cultural and artistic institutions of the city.
